Why do good things always have an end...The “Concentration of Bulder” happens here since 5 years growing each time to reach more than 1000 climbers, officially 850 registered including Edu Marin, Dani Andrada, Gerard Rull, Pau March, Marco Jubes, Andrea Chlebova, Ruth Plannels and Berta Martin...
Oi on The Crimps
For this memorable weekend the leitmotiv is sending the maximum problems just for fun.
Cloudy sky and chilly breeze are the perfect conditions in order not to leave all your skin on the first slopper!!!
For this ultimate edition Rodrigo Rodriguez the creator added a new rule, poker style betting on sends. Put it like this, you start the day with a 1000 points and as the day goes you can challenge an even level climber to do with you a problem in less that 4 tries. First one to send gets the points of the other player....The Wild wild west is back. In the morning there is no sign of Saloon activities as the general motivation is so intense that wild herd just jumps from a problem to the next one. After a typical “Jamon y Queso Manchego” lunch immediately followed by a pad nap taking advantage of a nice ray of sun i’m suddenly awakened by a sweet voice “hey Lafouche you wanna play, i bet you 200 on that boulder”, hey what are you talking about, nice, poker blok with you sure honey why not!!! well having a close look at her biceps i started to fear the result!!!!
First draw leaves us both on the ground, Joder, the 6B+ proposed turned out to be at least 7a says Andréas boyfriend Dani Andrada as he cruises it bare food, Joder, next...
Moving to another area we find the perfect blok to renew with success, a strange funky move in a groove offers me 200 points as Andréa stops laughing brought back by gravity on the pad... she’ll get it but 2nd try. As we explore the surrounding we show up at the bottom of the Fly and Ibéria. “Alright Lafouche too bad we can only bet 200 max, i’d put all my points on this one against you”, well are y sure its 7C, ok stand up start is 7B, it looks possible Ok lets go Babe. Ruth and the boys show us the methods in pure style.
The Fly is really a strange move you have to mantle on a small edge left hand, let go of the 2 feet, stick your cheek on the rock and grab a tiny crimp to move right foot higher that the hand to push push to the big potato.... Incredible at the 3rd try i avoid breaking my left wrist, let go of the feet, stick the cheek, raise the foot and push push to the big potato... Poor Andréa rages in several attempts without succes and there goes 200 more....
She calls it a day and i finish by strolling around all the area with full pockets finishing projects and trying new things.... As the sun sets you can hear the last Vengas, Joder, Puta in all levels of boulders....
At night the whole crowd gathers on the main plaza for the party, after an hour and a half of struggling with video connexions i manage to press play on the tape recorder and offer the assistance the premiere of NAVALAMECA SEVENTEA, the movie we directed the previous year on site with the craziest gang of climbers trippin with some strange beverages...check it out right here a year of work....
